I am not a fan of the show Sex and the City. I didn’t plan to see the movie until everyone I knew kept suggesting I see it. They said it was better than the show or at least different. They were right. For someone seeing this film without ever watching a single episode of Sex and the City will know exactly what’s going on. It begins with explaining each character and their past and then their current status. Very well done. This informed not only the avid fans of the show but people who never watched the series.

Sarah Jessica Parker portrays a writer Carrie Bradshaw that has a long time relationship with a wealthy man who goes by the name of Big. He continues to tell that all he wants is her and if marrying each other makes her happy then he’ll do it. That encourages a new group of problems and even a break up to their story. The outcome was well told and touched even sour hearts like myself. The other three ladies have grown older and experience relationships and love in different ways. One of my favorite tales was of Kim Catrell’s character Samantha who remained in a relationship with a model that she helped make famous until she becomes very tempted to go with her new neighbor who is extremely hot (played by Gilles Marini). I know I would have went for it.

Aside from the fact that Sarah Jessica Parker continues to get skinnier by the moment, the film was very good. It covered all of their relationships in a very comedic and entertaining manner that even a man would love to watch this film. I wouldn’t recommend it to children however. There is nudity and some sex scenes shown. A great film for a mature audience.
