The Olympics have been airing since Friday. I tape each day enjoying various sports. I even had the opportunity to watch badmitton. Very strange sport indeed. I remember playing that in the streets with neighbors and never thought it would make it to the Olympics.

The girl’s gymnastics team performed. This is one of my favorite sports to watch. I became very aggravated watching one after another falter on either the balance beam or the floor when they have been so good for so long. They managed to place second, but they really deserve first without the mistakes they made. Mistakes occurred that weren’t usual for them so you know it was all nerves. Chinese girls were very good but underage and I don’t think it’s really fair to place children against adults. China won the gold. The smallest girl must have been 11 years old and yet China claims she’s 16. Yeah right. But she’s extremely good. I look forward to seeing her as she becomes an adult. I guess in four years they will say she’s 16 again. That will be interesting to see what happens there but I’m sure it’ll be overlooked like many of the mistakes the Chinese girls made.

The Russian girls were hardly shown along with the Romanians, but they were also very good. Lets be fair and not just show the top two teams. Show why they are the top two teams by showing the other teams for the viewers to compare.

It has been talked about how young the Chinese team is and yet the federation ignores it. I think it is because the games are in China and are overlooking the problem. Not right and not fair. There were a few American girl gymnasts that could have competed but they were underage and couldn’t be put on the team. Therefore, either get rid of the age limit or be sure to stick to the rules with everyone and not who you choose to.
