The republican convention has been delayed or postponed. McCain said he is concerned for the people in Louisiana and want to show support for them. He announced that we should come together as Americans to help support each other during these hard times of a weather disaster. I think fellow Americans have been doing what they can, but thanks to the lack of help that the Bush administration has offered in the past couple of years to repair the damages made by hurricane Katrina we seem to not care what a politician has to say. At least a republican politician. I am a republican and am extremely angry over what has occurred in the past eight years. Too many people have suffered through the administration’s greed that it makes it hard to trust what McCain has to say. It’s hard to trust any politicians word quite frankly, but in particular a republican politician. McCain stated he didn’t want to see another Katrina but so many victims of Katrina have not been helped since their homes were destroyed. How about taking care of the conditions that have already occurred instead of claiming you are there to help them “if” it happens again. Complete crap and manipulation out of hopes that we forgot that nothing has been done from the Katrina storm. I didn’t forget.
Hurricane Gustav is said to hit New Orleans sometime this week and they fear floodings and more loss of homes. It saddens me that these people continue to get hit without enough funds to be able to rebuild the way they need to. My thoughts and prayers go out the residents of Louisiana and anyone else that may fall victim of the harsh hurricanes.

America’s Best Dance Crew came back for one more epsiode this season. They selected three groups from last season and two from this past season to compete in a dance off. Who ever wins the dance off will be selected to appear on the MTV awards to announce best dancer catagory. I am not sure if they will be performing as well.
The winners from both seasons first appeared to dance with each other. Then they stepped aside to allow the other teams to dance routines. Out of the five crews the judges selected the three they felt were the best and then America gets to vote for two teams to battle again on a preshow for MTV. From there, the winner will appear on the MTV awards show.
SoReal Cru, Fanny Pak, and Kabba Modern (from last season) were chosen over two groups from last season. Fanny Pak did one of the best routines I have ever seen on the show. They had to dance to Pussycat Dolls “When I Grow Up” and began the routine in oversized baby cribs. It was really cool and entertaining all the way through and they really should win this competition. Good luck Fanny Pak. The winner will be announced on September 7th.

Ollie and Michelle are gone. In the double eviction episode last night the two found themselves being evicted as Dan continued to have control. Kiesha won HOH after Michelle was evicted. Immediately following she nominated Jerry and Ollie giving the reason that they were the only two she could nominate since everyone else stood beside her for the last portion of the game.
Then the power of veto was played and Dan won that too. He kept nominations the same and everyone nominated Ollie out. Jerry, for some reason was scared he was leaving. Everyone kept consoling him that he wasn’t the target. Well, he will be next week if he doesn’t win HOH.
Depending on who wins the HOH next will determine who stays. Kiesha, Dan, and Renny plan to go to the end together. Chances are Memphis might go before Jerry depending on if Dan or Renny gets in next. Dan may not be able to put Memphis up again so I think Dan is going to throw the next HOH competition in order to make sure that Renny makes that decision. Unless of course Jerry wins it. He’s been doing rather well with competitions that have to do with counting. Anything with endurance he really cannot do it.
I foresee Dan and Kiesha making it to the end together with Dan winning the money. He managed to make everyone think that he was either crazy or that he was doing what he was told as America’s Player. The game play came straight from him and there was no guidance from anyone. He just didn’t do things right by trying to make fools out of everyone. He really didn’t need to do that.

I watched Lost Boys 2 last night. The actual name of it is Lost Boys: The Tribe. The original Lost Boys came out in 1987 with mild success. It is actually one of my favorite vampire movies. The sequel, however, is not as good. It was released directly to dvd. This is kind of a smart move since fans of the original are the ages that usually rent before going out to the movie theatre. However, they could have been able to introduce the Lost Boys to a new generation that goes more often to theatres.
The sequel stars a 27-year-old newcomer Tad Hilgenbrink who portrays a former surfer who decides to take his sister to live with their aunt. In the course of them trying to get used to their new living conditions, they meet up with a group of guys who are vampires. Of course the head vampire thinks the sister is hot and tricks her into drinking his blood. In order to save her Hilgenbrink has to kill the head vampire and by doing so he drinks the head vampires blood as well. He knows he won’t die either as long as the vampire is killed.
P.J. Pesce directs this film and also has a small part as one of the vampires. The direction kept you interested in the film and offers those that want to see more blood the opportunity to do so. I kind of fast forwarded those scenes. The story was well told and managed to wonder what was going to happen next. It also managed to keep some of the dark humor that the original had.
I would recommend this film to fans of vampire films. It isn’t a waste of time. Oh yeah, Corey Felman takes on a supporting role as a vampire killer. He was in the original film as one of the boys fighting off the vampires. He kept referring to how he knows how it feels to lose a loved one. His voice was very weird in this film. He has appeared in interviews and didn’t sound so odd so I believe he thought it would be more effective if he deepened his voice like a frogg. He sounded very corny.

If you like New York who came to fame on the flavor of love series then you should really enjoy watching her latest reality show, New York goes to Hollywood.
In the latest episode her mother comes to her house in order to stir up trouble. I think the producers of the show ask her mother to be as horrible and judgemental as possible along with being overly religious. She’s a bit of an oxymoron. NY’s mother gives her assistant a very hard time by treating her like a servant during dinner. Then as the assistant is leaving the mother makes sure she lets the girl know how she hates how she looks by telling her to look more professional the next time she shows up to work.
The next adventure is an outing with NY’s manager and a movie producer. NY’s mother makes it known she hates a lot of questions and says that her daughter deserves only the best roles since she is going to be very big one day. The drama continues as the producer tells NY that she will not hire her if her mother is around.
The director of the show is actually very good and doesn’t add in anything unnecessary. The flow of the show makes it easy to watch and there’s not a lot of arguing or over the top antics happening. It is simply a silly show that offers some entertainment especially when there’s nothing else to watch on television or cable.

Here is the line up for the latest stars joining Dancing with the stars:
Lance Bass from N’Sync
Toni Braxton, an r&b singer
Brooke Burke, an actress
Rocco DiSpirito, a chef on TV
Maurice Greene, an Olympic sprinter
Kim Kardashian, a model/reality show star
Cloris Leachman, an actress
Cody Linley, from the Hannah Montana TV show
Susan Lucci, Actress from “All My Children”
Misty May-Treanor, an Olympic beach volleyballer
Ted McGinley, an actor
Jeffrey Ross, a comedian
Warren Sapp, an NFL player
The Dancing with the Stars Fall 2008 Season 7 premiere will first air at 8 p.m. Sept. 22 on ABC. I can’t wait to see who is going to be voted off first. I am going to guess before I watch the show that Ted McGinley will probably be voted off first since he is rather odd and people won’t relate to him. He is also goofy. Next one off will be Cloris Leachman. She is up in age and will not be able to perform like the others, yet she has a chance to last an episode or so more depending on her likeability with viewers. Those that will follow are Warren Sapp since he is a big football player that probably doesn’t have rythm and Jeffrey Ross just because. Ross is a comedian and they typically don’t fair very well.
The winner will probably be between Cody Linley and Toni Braxton. Linley is the youngest contestant at 19 years old and has worked on the Hannah Montana show and involved with Disney. Braxton is a singer but has danced as well. She knows the rythm and style. I will be surprised if she doesn’t do well.

There’s a new line-up for Dancing with the Stars. I am looking forward to seeing this show again. I enjoyed watching Kristi Yamaguchi last season. She was the real talent of the season and I loved her partner. The season before that was Spice Girl Mel B and I thought it would come down to her and former NSync member Joey Fatone. One of Fatone’s former group member will be on this season, Lance Bass.
The funny thing is that Lance doesn’t dance very well and he never did. He was chosen to be a part of the group because of his baritone voice. He admits he was never a great dancer but he picked up rather quickly. His skills were never the best, but he always put his best foot forward.
I can’t imagine that Lance will get to the end but I think he will be on the show for several weeks.

So the Olympics are officially over. I guess for some people watching so many sports on television can get annoying but I really enjoy it. I think it’s cool to see so many people from all different countries gather to compete. For the first time I have seen small countries and turn out with at least one medal where in past years they didn’t haven any. I think that is great too.
My favorite sport far and beyond is gymnastics mens and womens. I also like the rythmic gymnastics. That has been absolutely the coolest thing to watch. Sychronized swimming is also unique especially the group competitions. I never get to see rythmic gymnastics and syncrhonized swimming at the yearly competitions so I am really pleased to be able to see these in particular.
Of course the swimming was exciting especially watching Michael Phelps and the diving was amazing as well. I will definitely miss the Olympics but I can’t wait to see what happens in London in 2012. I want to attend that one. Lets hope I can.

Super Crew won in the second season of America’s Best Dance Crew. The group had the most numbers by viewers over SoReal Cru. I am glad that they won over SoReal since they were really the best dance group. They won $100,000 and a trophy and title. They announced a third season will be coming again soon with auditions beginning within the next few months. If you check on the website to the show it will announce where the tryouts will take place.
I never realized how popular this show would be become. I enjoyed the first season and thought it took a different angle at dancing shows. Great concept and great dancers. The judges JC Chasez, Lil Mama, and Shane Sparks didn’t anticipate the show to be such a big hit either, but they admit they are very happy they were asked to be a part of it. They are guaranteed some steady cash to roll in for them for as many years as they agree to do the show. I think America’s best dance crew will stick around for at least five more years and will see as much success as American Idol has.

Renny won HOH this past week and put Jerry and April up on the block. During the veto competition Dan decided to play and win this time around. He won the veto and chose not to use it even though April offered him a proposition hinting towards giving him money. Dan’s real decision was going towards taking Jerry off the block in order to make an ally but Renny told him she would find him to be a traitor if he did. Therefore, Dan played it safe and left the nominees as they were.
Since then Dan has been approached by both April and her boyfriend Ollie to keep her instead of Jerry. Dan kept telling them he needs to think about it. He was the swing vote. If he voted to evict Jerry and Michelle did the same then April would stay. Nevertheless, April was evicted since both Michelle and Dan chose to keep Jerry. For some reason they felt it would best to not go against the rest of the house even though the rest of the house consisted of Keisha and Memphis. Renny admitted she wanted to see Jerry leave. I guess everyone thinks Jerry is going to be easy to get out but he plays rather well in a lot of the competitions. For the next HOH Jerry probably won’t win since it is a matter of endurance. Being that Jerry is 75 years old it is highly unlikely he will win these type of competitions.
The question still remains who the next HOH will be since if you are not watching the night time feed you will have to wait until Sunday to find out who it is. My prediction is that Memphis or Ollie will win the next HOH. There will be a double eviction on Sunday, therefore, whoever wins will have to select two people right away and then an eviction will occur. Then another HOH will happen and on Tuesday the nominations will be aired. Hmmmm I wonder who is going to go next. I would like to see Keisha and Jerry leave. The remaining five would be Dan, Michelle, Renny, Memphis, and Ollie. Libra and April are the first two to go into another house where they will be a part of the team that selects the winner of the game.
